RADCLIFF — A Radcliff man died Tuesday night after being hit by a vehicle near the intersection of Vine Street and Wilson Road in Radcliff.

Lee R. Beach, 43, of Radcliff was hit by an automobile driven by Michael D. Adkisson, 28, of Radcliff just after 9 p.m. Tuesday, according to Cpt. Kenneth Mattingly of the Radcliff Police Department. Beach was walking south on Wilson Road, and Adkisson was driving east on Vine Street. Adkisson entered the intersection on a green light and hit Beach slightly east of the intersection.

Beach was taken by ambulance to Hardin Memorial Hospital, where attempts to resuscitate him failed. Beach died shortly after 10 p.m., Mattingly said.

Radcliff Police Department is still investigating the incident, specifically the reason as to why Beach was in the roadway, he said.

Preliminary investigation does not show alcohol playing a part in the accident, though Adkisson consented to blood tests, which are awaiting results, he said.
