According to a citation, investigators with the Greater Hardin County Narcotics Task Force executed a search warrant March 15 at French’s Pioneer Court residence where they located 1 gram of heroin and “high-grade marijuana packaged in different bags.”

French was arrested and released March 18 on a partially secured $10,000 bond.

The grand jury also indicted Leroy A. Smith, 48, of Radcliff on charges of second-degree assault and second-degree persistent felony offense.

According to a citation, Smith “placed (the alleged victim) in a choke hold and began punching her in the face and stating he was going to kill her.”

Smith was arrested Jan. 27 and released the following day on an unsecured bond.

Both men are set to appear today for arraignment in circuit court.

An indictment is an allegation, not proof of guilt. Defendants are innocent until proven guilty.
