Railroad work causes road closures

Because of railroad repairs, two roads will be closed in the Guston community of Meade County over the next few days.
CSX Transportation will be closing Ky. 428 at the Guston crossing to perform maintenance today, according to the state Transportation Cabinet. Railroad crews are expected to complete that work and have the road reopened Friday.
Ky. 710 will be closed Monday with the maintenance work completed and the road reopened Tuesday.
Other CSX maintenance on railroad crossings in Meade County will continue over the next couple of weeks. The Transportation Cabinet said similar one-day closures are expected for Ky. 144 at Ekron and Ky. 1736 in Brandenburg. Additional advisories will be released as CSX notifies the cabinet's District 4 public information office of its work schedule.
