 Lincoln Trail Baptist Church, 4463 Bardstown Road, E’town, presents the Christmas cantata “A Child is Born” in American sign language with the Hearing Choir of the church, 6 p.m. Dec. 11. All actors/actresses are deaf except for one who is a CODA. Sign language interpreters will provide voice interpretation for the hearing audience. Seating limited to 200; tickets, $10, must be purchased by Dec. 1. All proceeds go to Deaf Mission in South America. United Methodist Mountain Mission will have pick ups at local Methodist churches on Dec. 15; needed items include household items such as dishes, pots and pans, as well as underwear, socks, shoes and new Christmas toys. Have items at church by Dec. 13 so they can be gathered appropriately. Pick ups will be at Vine Grove UMC, Stovall UMC, Radcliff UMC, Longview UMC, Memorial United Methodist, College Heights UMC, Howevalley UMC, Glendale UMC, Hodgenville UMC, and Wesley Meadows UMC; Cecilia and Stephensburg UMC churches by notice only.
