Retired Chief Warrant Officer 3 James Henry Norman Jr., 60, of Clarksville, Tenn., passed away Saturday, March 31, 2012, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
James was born March 2, 1952, at Fort Knox, the son of the late James Henry and Alpha Virginia Elkins Norman. He retired from the U.S. Army following 27 years of service. He was a recipient of the Saint Barbara Award along with other military commendations. James was a Baptist, a volunteer for the Cunningham Fire Service and held membership with the Montgomery County Bass Club and C.E.R.T.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a nephew, Billy Tabb.
Survivors include his wife, Donna Jean Richardson Norman of Clarksville; three sons, Anthony Norman of Clarksville, Nicholas (Maddy) Norman of Cox Creek and Michael Norman of Clarksville; his mother, Alpha Norman of Elizabethtown; one brother, Ron Norman of Shepherdsville; and one sister, Diann Steck of Radcliff; and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life service was Monday, April 9, in the chapel of McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home in Clarksville, Tenn. Burial was in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery-West in Hopkinsville with military honors.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Cunningham Volunteer Fire Department.
