BIRTHDAYS. CELEBRATION. A 70th birthday celebration dinner was held Saturday evening for Wes Burnett at the home of Chuck and Lisa Burnett Flaherty in Louisville. Those present were Norma Burnett Hoagland of Lebanon Junction, Nelson and Patty Burnett and Bruce and Linda Burnett Thompson, all of Elizabethtown, Cynthia Burnett Stemple of Xenia, Ohio, Wes and Stella Burnett and the Flaherty children, Courtney, Caroline and Kendrick. A good time was had by all. Wes appreciates everyone for their birthday wishes, phone calls and gifts. Thanks Lisa for hosting the event.

RINEYVILLE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL. This week’s birthdays include Brylynn Jackson today; Austin Carwile on Monday; Jonathon Butler and Jeremiah Hill on Tuesday; Jay Massengill, Isaac Massengill and Isabella Hillmer on Wednesday; Kaylee Flora on Thursday; Ashlann Flanigan and Allie Clark on Friday; and Isaac Gray on Saturday.

FISH FRYS. During the Lenten season, St. John Church and Vine Grove Knights of Columbus will alternate Fridays for the fish frys. St. John’s dates are from 5 to 7 p.m. March 1 and 15. The Knights of Columbus will hold its from 4:30 to 7 p.m. March 8 and 22.

TEXAS HOLD’EM. The Vine Grove Knights of Columbus fourth annual Texas Hold’em tournament is from 6 p.m. to midnight March 2, at 312 East Main St. in Vine Grove. There will be a chili supper from 4 to 6 p.m. For information, call Kevin Pike, (502) 345-3934.
