KICK-OFF. The Cecilian Bank once again is sponsoring the annual Rineyville Day Kick-off. Bring a lawn chair and join us from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Community Park for free food and door prizes. We would like to ask our community to donate children’s items for the giveaway and donate a dessert of some sort. Donations may be delivered to the Rineyville Branch of The Cecilian Bank. Entertainment will be provided by Verland Hatmaker. Thanks in advance to everyone who helps us make this such a wonderful success each year.

Baby Contest: This year’s baby contest is at 1 p.m. today. For information, call 268-1114.

Raffle: Gold City Towing once again will give away prizes at Rineyville Day. The chances are $1 each or six for $5. Tickets will be on sale at the Kick-off and during Rineyville Day. Prizes are $20, $50 and $100. You need not be present to win and all proceeds go to the park.

RINEYVILLE ALUMNI BANQUET. The annual Rineyville High School Alumni Banquet will be held Oct. 1 at Pritchard Community Center in Elizabethtown. Doors open at 4 p.m. with dinner served at 6 p.m. This year the honored classes are the classes of ‘61, ‘51 and ‘41. CUB SCOUT PACK 600 AND BOY SCOUT TROOP 600. Pack and Troop 600 meets at 6 p.m. Thursdays at Rineyville Elementary School. If you want adventure, come see us. For Cub Scout information, call leader Larry Thomas at 307-8194 and contact Tracy Childress at 234-6669 about Boy Scouts.

WEDDING. Congratulations to Brittany Richardson and Austin Hatmaker, who were married Saturday at Camp Carlson and to Cassie Hardesty and Nick Clark who were married Saturday at St. Brigid Catholic Church.

BIRTH. Congratulations to Joey and Shannon Minter on the Aug. 8 birth of their sons. Hayden Kole who  weighed 5 pounds, 12 ounces, and Ethan James, who weighed 4 pounds, 5 ounces. They were welcomed home by big sister, Alexis.
