Rineyville Days

Rineyville Days are Friday and Saturday. Here is some of the information:

The baby contest is at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 28 at Rineyville Ball Park. Registration is from 5:30 to 6:15 p.m. at the ball park. Entry fee is $10, dress is casual. Forms can be picked up at The Cecilian Bank in Rinevyille. For information, call Heather Whelan, 268-1114.

Carnival rides, sponsored by The Cecilian Bank, are at 6:30 p.m. Friday. The first 80 kids will receive five ride tickets, so be sure to stop by The Cecilian Bank booth.

Fireworks kick off around 9:30 p.m. at the Community Park, sponsored by Rineyville
Food Mart and Burkman Feed.

Car show, sponsored by Gold City Towing, is at 11 a.m. Saturday at the community park. Classes receive first-, second- and third-place trophies. Classes are classes are muscle cars, street rods, original, restored, overall paint-engine interior and street car. Registration is $10. For information, call Cliff Hicks, 272-8227.

Beauty pageant signups for ages 5 to 21 are from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Rineyville Community Park. Pageants will be held Friday evenings, starting at approximately 7:30 p.m. For information, call Linda Thomas, 234-9578. Hardin County residents only.

The Pancake Breakfast is from 7 to 9 a.m. at Rineyville Elementary School.

The parade begins at 10 a.m. For questions, call Shane Crutcher at 268-0043.

RINEYVILLE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL. Pack 600, National Summertime Pack Award Recipient, and Troop 600, mile swimmers, 20-mile hikers, canoe trips, paintball, 24-foot rock wall, if adventure is what you’re looking for, you can stop looking. The troops are chartered and meet at 6 p.m. Thursdays at Rineyville Elementary School. There will be approximately 1,300 community service hours this year. ALUMNI BANQUET. The annual Rineyville High School Alumni Banquet is at 6 p.m. Oct. 6 at Pritchard Community Center in Elizabethtown. All graduates and alumni of Rineyville High School are welcomed and encouraged to attend. For information or an alumni newsletter, call Pat Riney at 737-8063.

SUMMITMETHODIST CHURCH BENEFIT. A benefit spaghetti supper, sponsored by Summit Methodist Church for rebuilding the church that was destroyed by lightning, is from 5:30 to 7 p.m.  Saturday in the White Mills Baptist Church fellowship hall. Dinner is spaghetti, salad, bread, drink and dessert for donations only. Gospel music will begin around 6:30 p.m. and the silent auction will end at 7:30 p.m. Summit church members are grateful to White Mills Baptist for allowing them to use the building. Members would love for people from all communities to attend. Concern and support from others has been overwhelming and much appreciated. CHURCH NEWS. Ridge Spring United Methodist Church will have its fifth Sunday singing at 6 p.m. Sept. 30. Wayne Cardin will bless everyone with his singing. Bring a friend and come out and join us.
