HARDIN COUNTY — A 13-year-old Rineyville boy was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle Friday afternoon.
The accident occurred on Ky. 220 approximately one and a half miles north of Rineyville. According to Kentucky State Police, the teenager was crossing the roadway when he was struck by a white Chevrolet sedan driven by Bettie Milburn, 59, of Custer, who was westbound on Ky 220. Milburn was not injured.
Trooper Justin Spears told The News-Enterprise that the teenager and his father were assisting the driver of an asphalt truck that had overturned.
The boy, whose identity was not released by KSP, was airlifted by LifeNet from the scene to Kosair Children’s Hospital in Louisville, a KSP spokesman said.
As of Saturday afternoon, the boy’s condition was unknown. KSP is investigating the incident.
