Tabitha Douglas is this month's student editor for Rising Voices.

Douglas, 15, is a sophomore at Central Hardin High School. She is a member of the Earth and Space Club, Book Club, and Drama Club. She also volunteers at HCEC TV, assisting with filming and other technical jobs.

In her free time, she enjoys writing, reading, roller blading, theater, playing Lifeline and listening to Lifehouse.

Douglas is considering a career in journalism and would love to be an author. She also is interested in forensics. She joined Rising Voices Teen Board hoping to gain experience in the newspaper business.

"I love to write and I scan through The News-Enterprise often," Douglas said. "I just hope to get the real-world experience and be recognized for my work."

As student editor for this issue of Rising Voices, Douglas led discussion at the meeting, assigned stories and photos and helped edit student submissions.
