Rolling Thunder has first 5K Fun Run/Walk

Rolling Thunder Inc. Kentucky Chapter Four held its first 5K Fun Run/Walk Aug.3 at Freeman Lake Park in Elizabethtown. The event was organized by Angela Goodman and Heather Hardin. Runners were provided free snacks. Pic Pac donated bananas, AAA provided water and Rolling Thunder providedice cream.

The run, with 85 runners and walkers, lasted approximately an hour with the first runner finishing in at 16 minutes 14 seconds. The last participant crossed the line at 1 hour 5 minutes. The Road Warriors, a running club from Fort Knox, was among the racers. There were customized event medals, sixfor overall top placing,threemales and threefemales, as well as three deep in each age group. Volunteers and chapter members showed up in support of the event and it was much appreciated. The 5K Run/Walkwas sponsored by Harley Davidson of Bowling Green, Natural Health, Eriksen Chriropractic Centers, Ellis& Badenhausen Orthopedics PSC, Ride-Wright Tire, Shack in the Back BBQ, Swag Sports, Frederick’s Asset Protection and private donations. The next membership and business meeting is at 2 p.m. Sept. 8 in the Colvin Community Center, 230 Freedoms Way, Radcliff. Dues are $30 per year.
