Rolling Thunder holds April meeting

Rolling Thunder Chapter Four Kentucky held its April meeting on April 7. The chapters past president James Justice received a certification of appreciation for his dedication and years of service to the chapter. The club honored mothers who have children in the armed services. Presented with a Blue Star Mothers Coin was Kathy Austin, Brigitte Bragg, Petra Gill, Missie Hill, Linda Killion and Shelley Newton. Not present were Barbara Dieruf and Kim Mills. Guest Terry Colgrove also received a coin. Guest speaker Clint Meshew of the Fort Knox Veteran Service Office provided information on disability claims. A $200 donation was made in the name of the Fort Knox Fire Department to the Soldier and Family Assistance Center at Fort Knox. FKFD participated in the club’s chili cook-off on Feb. 2. The money collected from the silent auction and lunch proceeds was given to not only Fort Knox Fire Department but also Radcliff Fire Department and Elizabethtown Fire Department. Plans are underway for members to travel to Washington D.C. to visit the Wall during Memorial Day Weekend. This event is to focus on POW/MIA issues.


The first 5K Fun Run/Walk is at 9 a.m., Aug. 3 at Freeman Lake Park. To pre-register visit www.3wayracing.com and registration fee is $25. Race day registration is from 8 to 8:45 a.m. and the fee is $30.

Monthly chapter business meetings are at 2 p.m. the first Sunday of the month at Colvin Community Center, 230 Freedoms Way, Radcliff.
