Police are searching for a man who fired four shots Monday morning during an attempted robbery at a Radcliff market.

Radcliff police responded to a call at 8:50 a.m. regarding a robbery at Brooks Market on South Wilson Road, spokesman Bryce Shumate said.

Responding officers discovered it was an attempted robbery, according to police officials. The suspect fired four gunshots at the clerk, Shumate said, but nothing was taken and the employee was not injured.

“He fired four shots,” Shumate said. “My worry is if we don’t find this suspect, he may do this again.”

Shumate did not know if any customers were present at the time of the shooting, he said.

Though no one was injured, Shumate said the suspect still could face criminal charges for firing a weapon at the clerk.

Investigators obtained surveillance footage from the market, which shows a hooded man wearing dark clothing entering and leaving in 15 seconds. He can be seen running away from the store.

The department has released the video to news media. It can be viewed on The News-Enterprise website.

Police ask anyone with information about the robbery to contact the Radcliff Police Department at (270) 351-4477 or (270) 351-TIPS or Hardin County CrimeStoppers at 800-597-8123.
