Sacred Relics of the Saints: Treasures of the Church

-A A +A

The largest traveling display of relics in the world will be at St. Christopher Church in Radcliff at 7 p.m., Aug. 2.

There will be approximately 150 relics including those of St. Maria Goretti, St. Therese of Lisieux (the “Little Flower”). St. Francis of Assisi, St. Anthony of Padua, St. Thomas Aquinas and St. Faustina Kowaiska. The supreme highlight is one of the largest certified relics of the True Cross in the world, and a piece of the Veil of Our Lady.

The exposition begins with a presentation and teaching on relics by Father Carlos A. Martins of the Companions of the Cross. This provides the catechetical and spiritual basis for the “Walk with the Saints” that follows the presentation. The “Walk with the Saints” will take place in the gym of the Parish Life Center.

The regular Thursday evening Mass is at 6 p.m.

Those in attendance will be able to examine and venerate each relic.

Those attending are encouraged to bring their articles of devotion (rosaries, holy cards, etc.) and pictures of ill friends/family members, which they will be able to touch to the reliquaries as a means of intercession.
