HARDIN COUNTY — First responders in Elizabethtown and from throughout Hardin County are planning an earthquake-themed emergency management exercise for Jan. 11.
The purpose of the drill is to test coordinated efforts of the Hardin County Emergency Operations Center and gauge each agency’s preparedness for disasters that could stem from an earthquake.
The drill is based on an earthquake occurring in western Kentucky that results in moderate damage throughout the local area, with extended compromise of local utilities and demand for government, non-governmental organization and private sector services.
Any business or agency interested in participating in the drill should contact Elizabethtown Fire Department Safety Officer Rusty Todd at (270) 765-2122 or at russell.todd@elizabethtownky.gov.
