The formal sentencing of a Cecilia man accused in a series of robberies last October near the Hardin-Meade county line has been continued until December.

Steven C. Goodman, 22, was scheduled to be sentenced Tuesday in Hardin Circuit Court. However, Goodman, who is serving time at Northpoint Training Center in Burgin for unrelated charges, was unable to appear.

Judge Ken Howard continued the sentencing until Dec. 3.

In September, a Hardin County jury found Goodman guilty in two robberies and a shooting Oct. 27, 2012, in the Big Spring community.

Goodman was found guilty of two counts of first-degree robbery, first-degree assault, first-degree burglary, theft by unlawful taking more than $500, theft of a firearm and four counts of first-degree wanton endangerment. Jurors have recommended Goodman serve 30 years.
