Edna Maxine Amos Edna Maxine Amos, 96, of Cecilia, died Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2009, in Cecilia. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. She was born on Sept. 14, 1912, to the late Ulysses Samuel and Mary Belle Stringfield Matthews. She was married to Arthur “Pete” William Amos, who preceded her in death on Sept. 24, 1980. She was also preceded in death by 11 brothers, Bishop Marvin, Leonard Edwin, Ballard Blackburn, Louie Jennings, Charles Willard, Delbert Ezra, Samuel Morgan, Paul Raymond, Chester, Lester and John Wesley Matthews. She is survived by four children, Murrell Clifford (Ginny Ann) Amos of Prattville, Ala., Mary Alice (Ervin) Hurt of Cecilia, Judy Carol Wieman of Elizabethtown and Daniel Lee (Arethia) Amos of Buffalo; eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. The funeral is at 11 a.m. EDT Thursday at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown with the Revs. Charles Darland and Scott Wiggins officiating. Graveside services are at 1:30 p.m. EDT in Edmonton City Cemetery in Edmonton. Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today and continues after 9 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Condolences may be expressed online at www.brownfuneral.com.   Freda Henry Freda Henry, 61, formerly of Radcliff, died Monday, Aug. 24, 2009, at the home of her sister in Severn, Md. She is preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Jean Henry; and a brother, Nevan Henry. She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Janet and Mike Barrow of Severn; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Alan and Midge Henry of Elizabethtown and David and Regina Henry of Rock Hill, S.C.; a maternal uncle, Claude March of Leicester, England; three nieces; two nephews; and 12 great-nieces and nephews. The funeral is at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 5 at Nelson-Edelen-Bennett Funeral Home in Radcliff with the Rev. Jim Myles officiating. Burial will be at North Hardin Memorial Gardens in Radcliff. Visitation is from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 4 and beginning at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Jackson, 81, of Colesburg went home to her heavenly father on Monday, Aug. 31, 2009 at Flaget Memorial Hospital in Bardstown. She was the former Barbara N. Byers, a native of Mills County, Iowa. She was a retired production worker for the James. B. Beam Distillery in Clermont. She was a member of Colesburg Baptist Church and Order of the Eastern Star Elizabethtown Chapter. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Jackson; and a son, Dennis Jackson. Survivors include three daughters, Carolyn Jackson of Cecilia and Cheryl Bundy and Mary Taylor, both of Colesburg; one son, David Jackson of Colesburg; one brother, Elton Lloyd Byers Jr. of Henderson, Iowa; 13 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. The funeral is at 11 a.m. Thursday at Kappel Funeral Home in Lebanon Junction with the Rev. Mark Judd officiating. Burial will be in Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens in Elizabethtown. Visitation is from 1 to 8 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
