The grim reaper loves the grim reading that holidays bring. There's no rest for him on Labor Day, one of the worst of the year for highway deaths.
Thirteen people who were with us on Friday were statistics by Tuesday, according to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet. That's actually one fewer than the same weekend a year ago.
For them, a Labor Day that traditionally marks the end of summer instead was the end. Period.
