The Department of Corrections Division of Probation and Parole launched an initiative last week in Hardin County to locate probation and parole absconders in the county and bring them back into custody.

The Capturing Absconders Proactively program took place Dec. 18 to arrest those who are avoiding arrest or prosecution.

In all, seven absconders were apprehended and several other addresses were confirmed, according to a department news release. Two teams from the Division of Probation and Parole participated in the operation and were assisted by the United States Fugitive Task Force.

Although this phase of the CAP program is complete, team members will continue to follow up on leads as to the whereabouts of the absconders that were not apprehended in last week’s operation, according to a news release.
