Hardin County and LaRue County Schools have canceled classes for Thursday because of the snowfall, subfreezing temperatures and resulting poor road conditions. Elizabethtown and West Point independent districts will operate on a one-hour delay this morning.
Elizabethtown Christian Academy announced that it will operate on a two-hour delay.
Elizabethtown Community and Technical College canceled early classes and will open at 10 a.m. today. Western Kentucky University campuses in Elizabethtown, Radcliff and Fort Knox open at 1 p.m. today.
Other area school districts closed include Meade County, Hart County, Bardstown, Nelson County, Grayson County, Bullitt County and Breckinridge County. Radcliff Christian Academy, Leitchfield Christian Academy and Breckinridge-Grayson Head Start also have canceled classes for Thursday.
In addition to slick roads resulting from Wednesday afternoon's snow showers, the weather today features bitter temperatures with sharp winds.
