The VeggieTales live performance is coming to Severns Valley Baptist Church this spring.

In conjunction with WJIE radio station in Louisville, the church is hosting “VeggieTales Live: Happy Birthday Bob and Larry” at 7 p.m. April 26 in its multi-purpose room, said Ashley Purcell, director of children’s ministries at Severns Valley.

Tickets for the performance go on sale Monday, she said.

The touring show celebrates 20 years of VeggieTales stories and songs and features live characters, skits and fan-favorite performances, such as “The Hairbrush Song” and “God is Bigger than the Boogie-Man,” according to the VeggieTales website.

Purcell said Severns Valley has a strong partnership with WJIE, who asked the church if it would be willing to host the performance.

The effort to land the show has been “in the works” for a while, she said, and news of the upcoming performance was released this week.

General admission tickets are $10 while VIP seats are $25, Purcell said. Tickets can be purchased at Severns Valley Baptist Church at 1100 Ring Road in Elizabethtown, LifeWay Christian Stores in Elizabethtown or Louisville, or at WJIE’s website, www.wjie.org, she said.

Purcell did not know how many tickets would be available.

Hosting the performance is an “awesome opportunity” for Severns Valley, she said, because it will allow the church to open its doors to the community and children to display its ministry.
