The man shot and killed Saturday in Radcliff has been identified.

Darren Johnson, 47, of Radcliff, was killed by a single gunshot wound in a shooting at 355 Shelby Ave., Hardin County Deputy Coroner Pat Elmore said. Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene.

Three others were wounded in the shooting, which was at what police call a private club. Two were treated at Hardin Memorial Hospital and have been released, said Bryce Shumate, a spokesman for Radcliff Police Department. The third was flown to University Hospital in Louisville. Shumate didn’t know his or her condition.

Shumate said investigators haven’t given him clearance to release the names of the other victims.

Two of the wounded were found by police at the scene, while a third arrived at HMH independently. That person later was determined to have been injured at the same incident.

RPD responded to the scene at about 3 a.m. Saturday. Shortly after arriving, officers heard shots fired nearby, and Kentucky State Police responded to an apartment at 430 Wagon Wheel Trail.

At that address, KSP troopers arrested Zachary T. Goodwin, 22, of Radcliff, on charges of alcohol intoxication, second-degree fleeing or evading police, third-degree criminal mischief in the third degree, and possession of synthetic cannibinoid agonists, commonly known as spice. The incident later was determined to be unrelated to the Shelby Avenue shooting.

Shumate said investigators are looking for witnesses who might have been at the club at the time. Most people left the scene by the time officers arrived. Anyone with information can anonymously call Radcliff police at 270-351-8477 or Hardin County CrimeStoppers at 1-800-597-8123.

The investigation is ongoing.
