Issue: Downtown Elizabethtown parking meters
Our view: There’s life in them yet
Once upon a time, downtown Elizabethtown was such a hopping place, city leaders installed parking meters to ensure everyone had a chance to visit county offices and patronize the merchants.
That’s one theory at least.
Another theory is that way back when, the ogres in City Hall figured out how to make a buck (or at least a nickel) off anybody who had to conduct business with a county office.
