South Dixie Highway shut down in 3400 block

Traffic on Dixie Highway south of Elizabethtown was shut down in both directions at approximately 8 p.m. from Dawn Street to Dee Street because of a head-on collision involving two vehicles.

The road was expected to be closed for several hours as authorities investigate the Thanksgiving Day crash.

Two passengers were transported to Hardin Memorial Hospital while one was airlifted to University Hospital in Louisville.
