Happy Mother’s Day. I hope everyone enjoys the day, either being a mother or celebrating one.
The April rain seems to have come a month late. I guess it is still good for the gardens. It makes it very muddy for planting.

BIRTHDAYS. Happy birthday wishes go to Leo Dailey, John Owens, Celia Meadows, Autumn Bassette, Bobbi Walker, Jeff Bainbridge, Larry White, Amy Adams, Luann Brashear, Lettie Lamkin and Bashar Masri.

ANNIVERSARIES. Happy anniversary wishes go to Reva and Roger Richardson on Tuesday; Dennis and Paula Lafollette and Steve and Joan Scobee on Wednesday; and Jennifer and Kevin Phelps on Saturday.

GET-WELL WISHES. Get-well wishes go to Jamie Rigdon, Billy Curle, Bud Newton, Rudelle Harpool, Bea Routt, Bill Tabb, Martha Sappenfield, June Routt, Russell Strader, Norma Fox, Wendell Jolly, Pierce Fulkerson, Bill Cassidy, Ruth Jaggers, Greta F. Martin and Freddie George. I would like to update the get-well section. Please contact me if you know someone who needs to be removed or added. Thanks.

There will be a time of recognition of all New Horizon ladies at the 10:30 a.m. worship followed by new baby dedication. There will be a class for all children age 4 and older and all youth through high school. The children will be at camp from June 10 through 14 and the youth and adults will be on a mission trip to Louisiana from June 23 through 28.

SONG FOR THE MISSING 2.  Song for the Missing 2 is June 1 at the Freeman Lake bandstand. This is a fundraising event as well as an event to raise awareness for the Kentucky Bloodhound Association. I cannot stress enough how important what these people do is to our community. These are the people who helped and supported us through my brother’s disappearance and death. Please save the date and look for more information in this column.

HARDIN COUNTY FAIR. The Hardin County Fair will celebrate 50 years within the community this July. The Hardin County Fair Board and Pageant Committee is inviting all past Miss Hardin County Fair winners to be present for a special recognition during the Miss Hardin County Fair Pageant on the evening of July 8, to mark the special occasion. If you are a previous Miss winner or have contact information of a previous winner, please contact Linda Thomas, 735.6054 or lmthomas60@comcast.net for information.
