Happy Mother’s Day. I hope everyone spends time with their mothers today. For those of you who have lost their mother, I wish you a day of remembering your fondest of memories. Finally, for all those of you that are mothers, I wish you a happy sunshining day.
  The rain doesn’t seem to want to leave. The fields are flooded and many of the farmers are wanting to plant. Our garden is a giant mud puddle and what was already planted I fear is gone. Many of us may end up with late gardens this year.

BIRTHDAYS. SCOUTS. The Girl Scouts will meet at 6 p.m. Monday at Glendale Christian Church. The Cub Scouts will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday at the church.

GLENDALE LIONS CLUB. The Lions Club will host its annual all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast from 7:30 to 11 .m. May 21 at the Glendale Fire House.

CHURCH NEWS. The Glendale Christian Church’s Ladies Circle will meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday. The church will host The Living Hope’s Angels at 6 p.m. next Sunday. The group is orphans from China who will perform a lively Chinese dance, praise and personal testimonies. A special offering will be received for the ministry as well.

BENEFITS. The Addison Jo Blair Run/Walk will be held from 8 to 11 a.m. May 21 in Glendale. Registration will be $30. Early registration has ended.
