The heat has been unbelievable. Our family took a day trip to Beech Bend Park on one of the hottest days. I enjoy the summer but Mother Nature is hitting us hard.

CHURCH NEWS. New Horizon Baptist Fellowship will hold vacation Bible school from 6 to 8 p.m. June 6 through 9. The theme this year will be “Footsteps of Jesus” and children ages 3 through 18 are invited to come. The journey will be exciting and refreshing as they travel to some of the places Jesus traveled. Invite your friends and if you need a ride give us a call at (270) 737-4386.

Also, everyone is invited to New Horizon Baptist Fellowship at 10:30 a.m. July 3 for the Wayside Mission Christian Choir from Louisville. The group will sing in the worship service. Come “Celebrate America” with us followed by a delicious meal in our fellowship hall. It is free.

LIONS CLUB. The South Hardin Lions Club will have an ice cream social from 6:30 to 8 p.m. June 20 at Upton Community Center. The club will set up information stations about Lions. Past International Director Tom Matney also will induct the new officers for the new Lions year. Come and see how the South Hardin Lions serve the communities of Upton and Sonora. SCOUTS. The Girl Scouts will meet at 6 p.m. Monday at Glendale Christian Church.
