  Happy Father’s Day. I hope everyone has the chance to spend the day with their dads. Those of you who have lost their fathers, I wish you a day of remembering all the happy memories that you shared with him.
   We seem to be getting a small break in the weather. It hasn’t been as hot. The farmers finally are finishing their planting. I am looking forward to the produce from our garden.

CHURCH NEWS. Everyone is invited to New Horizon Baptist Fellowship at 10:30 a.m. July 3 for the Wayside Mission Christian Choir from Louisville. The group will be singing in the worship service. Come “Celebrate America” with them followed by a delicious meal in the fellowship hall. It is free.

LIONS CLUB. The South Hardin Lions Club will have an ice cream social from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday at Upton Community Center. The club will set up information stations about Lions. Past international director Tom Matney also will induct the new officers for the new Lions year. Come and see how the South Hardin Lions serves the communities of Upton and Sonora. SCOUTS. The Cub Scouts will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday at Glendale Christian Church.
