FRANKFORT Kentucky’s spring fire season has begun and meaning burns of woody debris is prohibited daylight hours between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. Nighttime burning, between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m., is permitted by state law. A Sunday story in The News-Enterprise confused the times. Burns must also be positioned 150 feet or more from any wood-line. Forestry officials advise contacting respective fire departments prior to burning. Some municipalities in Hardin County require burn permits.
