A local private school has received national recognition for student performance.
St. James Catholic Regional School in Elizabethtown on Friday was named a National Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education. The award is given to schools with high-level student performance or where significant gains have been made in student achievement. St. James is one of five private schools in Kentucky to be selected and one of 50 nationwide. A total of 269 schools in the U.S. were selected, according to an education department news release.
