ELIZABETHTOWN — State Rep. Jimmie Lee, D-Elizabethtown, presented the Elizabethtown City Council Monday with a $1 million check given by the state to help cover costs for the water plant’s restoration.
The money was part of $65 million allocated to cities throughout the state by the General Assembly for clean water and sewer projects, Lee said.
Lee said the state is struggling economically, but the General Assembly recognizes that city infrastructure must push forward or risk falling behind.
