When Dave Adkisson, president and CEO of the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce, travels around the state to talk business and politics, he almost always mentions Kentucky’s bright spot in the tough economic environment: the Fort Knox area.
The influx of thousands of new jobs through the post realignment has sheltered Hardin County from the worst of the Great Recession.
“Every community in the state of Kentucky would love to have that,” he said.
