State NARFE Convention held in Elizabethtown

The second district of Kentucky NARFE (National Active and Retired Federal Employees) hosted the 2009 State Federation of NARFE convention in Elizabethtown at the Holiday Inn Express on April 14-16.

Federal Employees gathered from throughout the state. Featured speakers were National President Margaret Baptiste from Alexandria Va., and Paul Carew Region 10 vice president from Chapel Hill, N.C. The group enjoyed touring the Coca Cola museum after a meal in the museum hospitality room.

Training workshops were then held for the offices at the chapter level. Roger McCurry, provided entertainment with his magical skills in the afternoon. A banquet was held with “In the Mix” quartet providing music. Betty Hundley was re-elected as district vice president for the second district which includes chapters in Elizabethtown, Mammoth Cave and Bowling Green.

The 2010 convention will be held April 13-15 at the Holiday Inn, Airport, Cincinnati by the 4th district of Kentucky NARFE.
