Getting to Neverland need not be a matter of taking the “second star to the right” and going “straight out till morning,” when the Historic State Theater presents “Hook” on Friday and Saturday.

The 1991 movie starring Dustin Hoffman in the title role and Robin Williams as Peter Pan shows at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday with a 2 p.m. Saturday matinee.

Based on characters created by J.M. Barrie, “Hook” tells the further adventures of Peter Pan, a boy who would never grow up, after he is, in fact, grown with children of his own. The plot involves Peter’s return to Neverland to reclaim his children, who have been kidnapped by Captain Hook.

The all-star cast of the Steven Spielberg movie also includes Julia Roberts as Tinkerbell.

Tickets are $3.
