Hello friends and all readers. I hope everyone enjoyed my Christmas story. Thanks for the phone calls, emails, and Facebook comments about the story. I know it took some of you back in time to the good all days, and yes they were the good all days.

BIRTHDAY WISHES. Belated birthday wishes to Charlie Triplett on Dec. 24. I am wishing many more happy days for you.

GET-WELL WISHES. Get-well wishes and prayers for Les and Gene Grimes, Charlie Brown, Verne Reed, Gary Willaims, Dewey Stillwell, Juanita Messima and all who are under the weather.

SYMPATHY. I was saddened by the loss of Mr. Willard Smallwood. He had been in a health care home for a while after his home was lost to fire. The family endured a lot of sadness from that fire and it’s hard to recover from a loss of that type. His wife and family members visited with him often. On Fridays, I always would see his daughter, Wilma Richie, come out of the facility from seeing him. Wilma would leave his wife of many years, Opel, to visit with him. I am so sure this was a hard thing for all of them. Mr. Smallwood and my daddy worked together at the State Highway Department for many years. Peace be with you all.

APPRECIATION. Martha Huffer, president of the local KESPA, appreciates all who came and joined us for our Christmas dinner Dec. 10 and to all the merchants for support with door prizes. A special thanks to J’Mae’s for the food provided.
