Hello people, well my friends, It’s been a good week I have to say. No one I know has passed away this week and I am thankful for that. But there are so many things to be thankful for.
BIRTHDAYS. I want to wish late birthday wishes to David and Patrick Peters, David is Patrick’s uncle, to Uldine “Sam” Coogle, Bonnie Lucas and Brady Goodman. I hope you all had a great day and will have many more good days.
HARDIN COUNTY FAIR. The Hardin County Fair is coming soon and that means a lot of things going on. I know the girls around here are waiting for this event, the pageants. So here it is girls, get ready for all the fun.
Registration for the Hardin County Fair Beauty Pageants ages 5-21 years old will take place from 6 to 7 p.m. May 27, at the Hardin County Fairgrounds. Contestants must be Hardin County residents and will need a copy of their birth certificate at the time of registration. For information, call Linda Thomas, 270-735-6054.
GARDEN TOUR AND TEA. Another event that is coming is something I think I would love to do this and I didn’t know we had this. The Garden Club of Elizabethtown will present the 2014 Garden Tour and Tea from 1 to 5 p.m. June 8, beginning at the Brown-Pusey House, 128 North Main Street in Elizabethtown. Five gardens will be opened and the cost is $15 per person. The tea will remain open for the entire time, and miniature gardens will be featured. Partial proceeds are returned to community service organizations for their local work. For information, contact Debbie, 270-765-9255.
OUT AND ABOUT. I was out an about on Wilson Road and the new Helping Hand of Hope has moved into the new building and it is a nice place to shop and very friendly. The new location is 6796 South Wilson Road in Elizabethtown. Helping Hand of Hope provides services such as rent and utility assistance, food and clothing, job readiness and resume writing as well as assisting clients in finding jobs and improving education. Helping Hand of Hope provides services to more than 25,000 clients each year. It will host an open house” at 10 a.m. May 30.   So please come by and help us celebrate the new facility. I am proud we have a place that helps out people when it’s needed. Thank you Helping Hand of Hope.
GET-WELL WISHES. Get-well prayers for Susie Witten, Regina Goodman, Darlene Hicks and anyone else I may have forgotten.
THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK. Can money talk and what would it say? LOL, Laugh out Loud.
