Hello everyone, I hope things are well with you all. First thing I need to say is I put happy birthday to Alice Elliott but it was her son’s birthday, Marlin Dean Butterworth, on Feb. 11. Her birthday is in November. We all were talking so fast, I got it wrong. So happy birthday, Marlin. I wish you many more and lots of happy days ahead.

BIRTHDAY WISHES. So for birthdays, Iva lee Yates Saltsman has just had another birthday and a dear friend of mine who lives out of state, Shirley Johnson Salmon, on Feb. 13. Happy birthday. We were childhood friends and always had lots of fun playing and riding our bikes around Franklin Crossroads.

REVIVAL. Just a reminder of the revival at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 17 at Open Valley Church. Come out and enjoy old fashioned church. When Ronnie Goodman called and was telling about it, I was so glad to hear this. One of the first things I thought of was MelvinGene Peters. As a child, I remember him as a tall strong man who was a hard worker on the job and with his walk with God. It’s strange the things you remember about people and the two things I remember about him is when air conditioning came out and the churches were putting them in. I love what I heard him say, why can we work in the heat for the almighty dollar but we can’t sweat for God after all he has done for us. The second thing is, when he passed away his yard was full of beautiful flowers. The rooster comb was by the door and they were full of seeds, small ones at that. I believe that in the flower seeds that were left, he left us some spiritual seeds that in their time have grown and bloomed. I miss him and I know his family does, as well as his church family.

GET-WELL WISHES. Please remember the sick in your prayers. My sister, Susie Witten, has had a light stroke, but the doctor feels she will have a full recovery and she is feeling better. Please remember Louise Peters. This is my aunt and she is a woman of great faith. Her health is not very good at this time, but I know her faith still is strong. Get well prayers for Robert Pence’s wife, and to Homer Carter’s wife, Judy. May blessings come to all of you.
