Hello readers. I just want to share with you all I am so glad when I see some of you out and about or on Facebook that you take the time to me tell how you are enjoying this column. This has been somewhat of a challenge to me, but one I do enjoy. Thank you all for your support and kind words.
SYMPATHY. There has been a lot of sadness again this week with the loss of good friends, neighbors and family. The community will greatly miss Doc Loyd Logsdon. Doc, as we all called him, is the little guy who always was on the pink scooter in Franklin Crossroads. Doc would ride the pink scooter to George and Virginia Highbaugh’s store. Then the happenings would begin. The laughter and the smiles on his face will not be forgotten and at Open Valley, I sure his seat will not be filled. Doc always will be the little man with the big heart on the little pink scooter. Forever be in the presence of the Lord, Doc.
To the family of Verneda Meredith Wortham Slayton, we always called her Neda, I always will remember her as the lady who always was smiling, a hard worker, a good wife and mother. Bobbie, you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.
To the family of Mr. Kenneth Eugene Binkley, you have the prayers of the community and I know you all will miss him greatly. He gave his all for you and now it’s time for his rest. Gail, his strength will live on through you and your family.
BIRTHDAY WISHES. Happy birthday wishes to Gary Dudgeon, Sheila Peters, Mattie Goodman and Cody Triplett.
GET-WELL WISHES. Get-well prayers for Charlie Brown, Denny Horn, Tom Peters, Carl Peters, Les Grimes, Zackary Ash and Brenda Bradley.
THANKSGIVING. Betty and Alex Pullen went to the home of Richie and Stephanie Lampton and family for a Thanksgiving meal. Sam, Vickie,   Zackary Ash, Jacob and Haile Lampton also attended. We had a wonderful meal and there was so much food. After the dinner, Sister Sam, as I called her, and I had to have our Thanksgiving nap. Thanks for another good Thanksgiving dinner.
Mary Johnson spent Thanksgiving Day with her sister, Paula, and her husband, Marshall Coogle, in Cecilia and with other family members. The day was good with lots of foods.

THOUGHT OF THE WEEK. My thought of the week is, “It’s not how many times you fall down, it’s how many times you get up. Get up.
