The Stitcher’s Quilt Guild has an ongoing service project to help the Wounded Warriors of the Iraq and Afghanistani wars who are now in rehabilitation on Fort Knox. Many of the members of the guild have made red, white and blue lap quilts which are donated to service members who are undergoing rehabilitation at Ireland Army Community Hospital. The quilts are created in lap size to serve members who are confined to wheel chairs. For information on the Wounded Warriors Quilt Program, call the Hardin County Cooperative Extension Service on Peterson Drive in Elizabethtown, 765-4121. They can connect interested people to a member of the guild for more information. The guild meets at 6:30 p.m. the last Wednesday of each month at the Extension Office in the auditorium.
