The Heartland of Kentucky Quilt Show in September, hosted by the Stitchers Quilt Guild, had two challenges this year. The theme for the guild this year was “The Year to Slash Your Stash and Scraps” which led to a scrappy quilt contest with vendors voting for their favorite. The winner was Hannah Myers with her bedsize quilt ‘A Farewell to Summer’. The second challenge was the guild challenge ‘When Life Gives You Scraps Make Leftovers’. Everyone in the guild was given a 4 inch by 42-inch piece of fabric that had to be used in the quilt. This also was voted on by viewers attending the show. The winner was Bethany Myers with her Pumpkin Patch quilt.
