ELIZABETHTOWN — Food, music and fun will be the lineup during the annual Swope Customer Appreciation Night at Swope Toyota in Elizabethtown on Friday.

A free country music show will be the cornerstone of the event and will run from 8 until 11 p.m. A tent will be set up for the concert at the dealership at 1100 N. Dixie Ave.

“Basically we are doing this as a gift to our customers,” said Susan Gifford, director of marketing for Swope Family of Dealerships.

Swope Customer Appreciation Night, she said, is a way of giving back to the community of “loyal” customers.

Those who attend the special event will be treated to a free country music concert.

Music will be provided by Joel Ray Sprowles and his Lincoln Jamboree, which consists of Charles Durham, Ronnie Benningfield, Mike Ash, Tommy Davenport, Ron Browning, Heidi Shaye Meredith and Jarrad Mattingly. Special guests are Michael Goodman, Jessica Merritt and Shefton Kash.

But food is also on the menu.

The outdoor event will include food sold by LaRue County Pork Producers and ice cream sold by Hardin County 4-H Livestock Club.

“It’s just fun for the family,” Gifford said.

Those who plan to attend the event should bring lawn chairs. The event will be held rain or shine because it will be under a tent, Gifford said.

“The tent is huge,” she said.

In fact, the tent has to be brought in from Louisville.

“There will be plenty of parking,” Gifford said, noting that the event will be accessible to the disabled and elderly.
