Tearful man pleads guilty to sex crimes

A bailiff had to hand Loren Dale Asbell Jr. a tissue so he could wipe away tears as he pleaded guilty Tuesday in Hardin Circuit Court to multiple counts of sex crimes with underage boys under a plea agreement with the Hardin County Commonwealth Attorney’s Office.
Under the terms of the plea agreement, Asbell, 48, had to confirm he had committed each of the 20 acts of which he was accused as he stood before Circuit Court Judge Ken Howard and a courtroom nearly full of onlookers, including some of his victims.
