Police say driver failed to notice pedestrian crossing U.S. 62

A 15-year-old girl received minor injuries Friday after being struck by a vehicle.

The Elizabethtown Police Department responded at 3:05 p.m. to the area of U.S. 62 and Williams Street in response to a traffic collision involving a juvenile pedestrian.

John T. Novince, 25, of Sonora was driving a 1997 Buick Park Avenue and was stopped at a stop sign on Williams Street preparing to make a left turn to go west on U.S. 62. As he was turning, police say he failed to see the girl, who was crossing southbound on U.S. 62.

Police said the teenager received minor injuries. She was transported to Hardin Memorial Hospital for X-rays, according to police
