LEXINGTON Hardin County Junior Miss Meighan Lee Shumate and Elizabethtown Junior Miss Elizabeth Meyers Boeglen didn’t place among the top 15 contestants Kentucky’s Junior Miss Competition in Lexington this weekend, but neither came out a loser.
According to Shumate, numerous schools offered scholarships to the 30-plus Junior Miss contestants after the program concluded Saturday. Shumate was offered cash scholarships of $1,000 to $2,000 from Lindsey Wilson and Kentucky Wesleyan colleges, she said, on her drive home Sunday afternoon.
