Kentucky State Police Lieutenant Jeremy V. Thompson was among 40 graduates who completed the 12-week Administrative Officers Course at the University of Louisville’s Southern Police Institute. The course curriculum is designed to develop informed, effective, ethically and technically competent law enforcement managers who are capable of assuming positions of leadership in their respective agencies.

Thompson was selected as Class Valedictorian, which is the highest honor achievable in a SPI graduating class. He also held the position of class president for his graduating class. The last four officers that KSP has sent to SPI all have received class valedictorian honors.

“It is a tremendous academic and networking experience for police supervisors. Academically, this was the most challenging process I’ve ever experienced,” said Thompson.

Thompson is a 13-year veteran of KSP, where he is assigned to the Madisonville Post as the investigations supervisor. He is the son of Joe Thompson and Christina Thompson, both of Louisville. Lt. Thompson resides in Hardin County with his wife, Karen, and two children, Tyler and Lauren.
