Retired Maj. Gen. John R. Tindall Jr. has ended his tour of duty as chairman of USA Cares, the locally founded nonprofit organization dedicated to helping today’s soldiers and their families with basic needs such as food, shelter and utilities.
Tindall, former commanding general of Kentucky’s 100th Division, took on the job after serving 36 years in the U.S. Army and was part of the group that pooled its resources to launch the charitable organization in 2003. He’s not fading away completely — he still serves as a board member.
