Fort Knox will host a concert by an award-winning country music star this summer when Trace Adkins performs June 22 at Godman Army Airfield.

More information about the concert, including ticket prices and purchasing information, is expected to be released later.

A Grammy-nominated member of the Grand Ole Opry, Adkins has sold more than 10 million albums.

He has had more than 30 hits on singles charts, four Grammy nominations and five Academy of Country Music and Country Music Television awards.

Adkins’ most popular songs include “(This Ain’t) No Thinkin’ Thing,” “Ladies Love Country Boys” and “You’re Gonna Miss This.”

His 11th studio album is scheduled for release this spring and it planned to feature the song “Tough People Do.” The song has been used recently in radio public service announcements for the U.S. Armed Forces.

The actor, author and “Celebrity Apprentice” contestant also is a spokesman for the Wounded Warrior Program and the American Red Cross. He is scheduled to soon complete his eighth United Service Organizations tour in 11 years.

The concert is being co-produced by Fort Knox Family & Army Moral Welfare and Recreation and the U.S. Army Family and MWR Command, Army Entertainment Division.

This is the 14th concert conducted at Fort Knox since 2003.
