State police do not expect to file charges

A Kentucky State Police cruiser was involved in a two-vehicle crash Thursday night in Elizabethtown.

The occupants of both vehicles were treated and released at Hardin Memorial Hospital. A KSP Post 4 spokesman said no charges are expected to be filed.

Trooper Scotty Sharp was traveling north on Patriot Parkway with lights and sirens engaged just after 6:30 p.m. as he headed toward a call in Rineyville, Post 4 spokesman Jeff Gregory said. As the cruiser crossed Ring Road, it was struck on the passenger side by a 2005 Mitsubishi Eclipse head west on Ring Road, Gregory said.

Sharp and Inga Hill of Elizabethtown, the other driver, were taken to the hospital with minor injures, Gregory reported.
