Two men have been arrested and charged with third-degree burglary for the Feb. 13 burglary of the McDonald’s at 900 N. Mulberry St.

Elizabethtown Police received a call from the Richmond Police about suspects that they had in custody that might be involved in a local McDonald’s burglary where the restaurant was entered through the drive-thru window and the suspects left with an undisclosed amount of money.

EPD detectives drove to Richmond and made contact with Joshua W. Abner, 23, of Waco, who was being held by that department for a similar burglary committed there.

Abner was willing to talk with EPD detectives and reported that he had been involved in the Elizabethtown burglary. Abner said he had an accomplice, Philip T. Wells, 25, of Richmond. Wells was unwilling to talk with detectives.

After conducting interviews, two warrants were sought for third-degree burglary and served on Abner and Wells. The investigation continues.
