Two Elizabethtown residents were flown by emergency helicopter from the scene of a two-car crash Sunday on Ky. 1600 near the Hardin-Meade line.

Sheila Crowe, 26, and Robert Chapman, 27, both were airlifted to University Hospital in Louisville with head injuries, Kentucky State Police reported.

At 11:15 a.m. Sunday, Crowe was driving a 1991 Mercury Topaz on Ky. 1600 when a 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer pulled from the intersection of Ky. 920 into her vehicle’s path, Trooper Sam Shacklette’s report says.

The Trailblazer was being driven by 31-year-old Carissa Decker of Vine Grove.

Decker, who was wearing a seat belt, reported no injuries.

Neither Crowe nor Chapman, who was a passenger in her car, were wearing seat belts, the police report said.

In addition to KSP and LifeNet, the Flaherty Fire Department and emergency medical crews from Hardin and Meade counties reponded to the wreck.
